Isobel Redmond Bio Image - So impressed was I with his presentation that I arranged for Nick to attend at the parliament to give that address to
members and staff shortly before Remembrance Day 2007

"It was obvious that he held the audience enthralled with his detailed knowledge of the battles of the Western Front in WW1. His insights into the background of various battles, how they progressed and the outcomes from both a military and individual perspective are invaluable in understanding the significance of Australia's part in WW1 and its impact on the national identity. So impressed was I with his presentation that I arranged for Nick to attend at the parliament to give that address to members and staff shortly before Remembrance Day 2007".

A Kelly, Testimonial - His presentation for our organisation was extremely well received, and we’ll be getting him back

“Nick has a way of bringing to life places and events that are integral to our identity as a nation. That Australian soldiers landed at Anzac Cove nearly a century ago, most of us know, but combining a visual element, with Nick’s authenticity and passion, make these events so much more real, and gives a greater feel for the experience, and a sense of perspective. His presentation for our organisation was extremely well received, and we’ll be getting him back”.

C Peace Bio Image - Nick’s passion and enthusiasm for Australian military history spills over into his presentation “Images of Gallipoli”

"Nick’s passion and enthusiasm for Australian military history spills over into his presentation “Images of Gallipoli”. The clever mix of personal experience from his visits to the Gallipoli Peninsula combined with a great archive of historical photographs show the human element from both sides of this bloody conflict".

Kevyna Gardner Bio Image - Nick has a knowledge and passion for this topic unequalled by anyone I have met

"The SOSE (Studies of Society and Environment) Faculty at Balaklava High School were delighted to have Nick speak to the year 10 students over some 4 or 5 years. As part of the year 10 curriculum, students studied World War 1 and a study of Gallipoli was naturally a large part of that study. Each year Nick spoke to 2 or 3 classes about the Australian experience there. His illustrated talk would engross these 15 -16 year olds for a double lesson of some 90 minutes. This is no mean feat. Nick succeeded by being a well informed gifted speaker.

Nick has a knowledge and passion for this topic unequalled by anyone I have met. His enthusiasm enabled him to bring this subject alive in a way teachers and text-books are unable to do so. His ongoing visits to Gallipoli have equipped him with memorable, updated photos and the opportunity to observe the evolution of this site. His approach not only includes the history of the battle there (complete with slides from historical photos of the time) but also human stories of soldiers involved. Nick has the ability to draw others in to share his fascination with this landmark event in Australia’s history and I defy anyone not to become as enthralled as he is with this story".

Probus Club Logo - Nick's commentary was able to bring life to the images that we were seeing and the fact that
many of those watching were able to relate to this because of relatives who saw action in those times

"With each slide Nick described in detail the original conditions and challenges that our World War servicemen faced as they were thrown against the artillery and entrenched troops of the opposing forces on the battlefields of France and Belgium.

Nick and his friend Ian had both made visits to these WW1 Western Front areas of action, and so Nick's commentary was able to bring life to the images that we were seeing and the fact that many of those watching were able to relate to this because of relatives who saw action in those times".
